Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O Technical Developer

Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop, customize and enhance Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O) applications using X++ and the D365 extension framework.
Design, develop, test and maintain D365 technical components, including tables, forms, classes, queries, data entities, batch jobs and extensions.
Configure and enhance workflows, approval processes and business automation based on approved business requirements.
Develop, maintain and optimize SQL-based data queries, SSRS reports and other reporting solutions to support operational and financial reporting requirements.
Design, develop and maintain system integrations using REST APIs, OData, web services and other integration technologies.
Support the integration of D365 F&O with Salesforce, other CRM platforms, banking systems and third-party business applications.
Develop and maintain integrations using Microsoft Azure technologies, including Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Service Bus and relevant middleware platforms.
Work with Microsoft Power Platform technologies, including Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI and Dataverse, to support workflow automation, reporting and business process improvement.
Manage data imports, exports, transformations and migration activities using the D365 Data Management Framework and data entities.
Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve technical defects, system errors, integration failures, performance issues and application-related incidents.
Collaborate with functional consultants, Finance, business stakeholders and the D365 Administrator to understand requirements and deliver approved technical changes.
Maintain development standards, reusable code, source control practices and technical documentation to ensure maintainability and system reliability.
Manage technical development activities through Azure DevOps, including version control, build pipelines, deployment processes and application lifecycle management (ALM).
Conduct unit testing, integration testing, regression testing and technical validation before deploying changes into production environments.
Coordinate technical deployments, application updates, release management and post-deployment validation in accordance with established change management procedures.
Support D365 environment management, including development, testing, UAT and production environments, in coordination with the relevant IT and application teams.
Monitor the performance, stability and reliability of custom developments, workflows, reports and integrations.
Identify opportunities to improve system functionality, automate manual processes, reduce operational inefficiencies and enhance user experience through technical solutions.
Ensure technical developments follow D365 F&O best practices, Microsoft extension standards, security requirements and established coding guidelines.
Maintain accurate technical documentation covering customizations, integrations, workflows, deployment procedures, data mappings and troubleshooting activities.
Coordinate with external implementation partners and vendors on technical issues, system enhancements, upgrades and integration requirements.
Support technical changes affecting multi-company and multi-legal-entity environments, ensuring appropriate testing and validation.
Assist with resolving technical issues affecting financial operations, month-end closing, year-end closing and other business-critical activities.
Identify technical risks, dependencies and potential business impacts before implementing changes in production.
Work within established technical governance and change management processes, ensuring that architecture approvals and production change authorizations are obtained from the appropriate stakeholders.
Perform other technical development, system enhancement and application support duties as required.

Required Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations technical development.
Strong hands-on experience in X++ programming, customization and application development.
In-depth knowledge of D365 F&O architecture, the extension framework and Microsoft development best practices.
Proven experience developing and maintaining tables, forms, classes, queries, data entities, batch jobs and other D365 technical components.
Experience configuring and supporting D365 workflows and approval processes.
Strong knowledge of SSRS reporting and the development of customized operational and financial reports.
Practical experience with the D365 Data Management Framework, data entities, data migration and data integration.
Hands-on experience with REST APIs, OData, web services and third-party system integrations.
Knowledge of Microsoft Azure integration technologies, including Azure Functions, Logic Apps and Service Bus.
Experience with Azure DevOps, source control, build pipelines, deployment processes and application lifecycle management (ALM).
Familiarity with D365 environment management, application updates, testing and release management.
Understanding of ERP and financial business processes, including the technical requirements supporting finance-related operations.
Experience with Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI and Dataverse will be an advantage.
Experience integrating D365 F&O with Salesforce or other CRM platforms will be an advantage.
Experience with banking systems, financial-system integrations and middleware platforms will be an advantage.
Experience working with multi-company and multi-legal-entity D365 environments will be an advantage.
Knowledge of UAE VAT, e-invoicing and relevant financial compliance requirements will be an advantage.
Previous experience in real estate, property development or construction environments will be an advantage.
Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations technical certification will be preferred.

Reporting To: Head of IT.
Working days and hours: Sunday to Thursday (8:30 to 17:30) & Friday (08:30 to 12:30)

Role Scope and Responsibilities
This position is primarily responsible for D365 F&O technical development, customization, workflow configuration, integrations, reporting, data migration, source control, testing and technical release management.

Day-to-day D365 user administration, user provisioning and access reviews remain the responsibility of the D365 Administrator. Business process ownership, financial policies, chart-of-accounts decisions and accounting policies remain with Finance and the relevant business owners. Enterprise architecture decisions, integration architecture approvals and production change approvals remain with the Enterprise Applications & Integration Lead and the established change governance process.
