About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and result-driven Procurement Manager for our client based to lead end-to-end procurement for water treatment operations, strengthen supplier base management, improve cost optimization, and ensure timely availability of project materials, equipment, services and logistics support.

Duties and Responsibilities
Lead the complete procurement cycle for project materials, equipment, spare parts, chemicals, subcontracted services and operational requirements.
Develop reliable local and international supplier networks to ensure competitive pricing and uninterrupted supply.
Negotiate contracts, rates, payment terms, delivery commitments and commercial conditions with suppliers and
subcontractors.
Coordinate with engineering, project, operations and maintenance teams to forecast requirements and plan
purchases in advance.
Drive cost optimization through vendor comparison, alternative sourcing, value engineering and budget control.
Manage international procurement, freight coordination, customs clearance, country of origin documentation, HS
code verification and shipment follow-up.
Monitor stock levels and maintain optimal inventory availability while avoiding overstocking and slow-moving
inventory.
Track purchase orders, expedite deliveries, resolve supply chain delays and escalate critical risks on time.
Ensure procurement, shipping and import/export documents are complete, accurate and compliant with company
policy and statutory requirements.
Evaluate suppliers periodically on quality, delivery performance, pricing, responsiveness and service standards.
Supervise procurement and logistics team members, ensuring workflow discipline, documentation accuracy and
adherence to SOPs.
Identify procurement risks, supply chain disruptions and vendor dependency issues, and implement mitigation
plans.
Improve procurement policies, approval controls, reporting discipline and ERP-based procurement visibility.

Required Qualifications and Skills
Minimum Bachelor's in Engineering (B.E) in Technology/Mechanical/Civil or Industrial
Masters or certifications in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics preferred
8+ years of Experience in Procurement & Supply chain (construction, EPC, MEP, water treatment, infrastructure or industrial sectors)
Well versed with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel proficiency
Industry Experience in Construction / EPC / MEP procurement experience (preferred Water treatment, infrastructure, industrial projects or project-based manufacturing)

End-to-end procurement management
Strategic sourcing and supplier base development experience.
Strong vendor negotiation skills
Cost optimization, budget control, value engineering and commercial comparison thought
process
Purchase planning with cross functionals
Construction material, MEP equipment, spare parts, chemicals and service procurement
exposure.
International procurement, freight forwarding, customs clearance, HS code and shipping
documentation knowledge.
Analytic & problem-solving nature and approach
Procurement documentation, compliance and import/export record control.
Risk management for supply disruptions, supplier dependency and compliance issues.
Team leadership, stakeholder coordination and process-driven execution.
ERP discipline, procurement reporting and continuous improvement mindset.

Language Proficiency
Fluent at English (spoken and written)

Other Details
Preferred Joining Date: Immediate / As soon as possible
Workdays & Timing: Monday to Friday (8:30am to 6:30pm)
Location: Current location in Chennai, India or willing to relocate
